GORT Project completes three weeks of field testing

The GORT project reaches a key milestone as three weeks of field trials put its agricultural robotics technology to the test.

The GORT project team has wrapped up a major field campaign at the Lycée Agricole de Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche (EPLEFPA), marking a significant step forward in the development of agricultural robotics.

What was tested?

Over three weeks, researchers and engineers tested several core technologies side by side with the realities of farm work: AI-powered plant detection, autonomous robot navigation, a mechanical weeding tool designed to reduce chemical inputs, and a data pipeline feeding the project's central data lake. The active involvement of the school's staff proved essential to the campaign's success.

The team talked with final users

Alongside the technical trials, the project's ergonomists conducted interviews with farming professionals to better understand how future users will interact with the system — ensuring the final solution is as practical as it is innovative.The insights gathered will now shape the next development phase, ahead of a new validation round planned for this autumn.
